Release, transition & making space
An exploration of what we’re ready to loosen our grip on: expectations, old stories, relationships, habits, or versions of ourselves. Through art-making, participants can honour what has been while creating space for whatever comes next.
About Art Flow
Art Flow is a 90-minute open art-making experience designed to help you slow down, create, connect, and find your flow. A flow state is that lovely place where you become absorbed in what you’re doing: the noise quiets down, time gets a little fuzzy, and your attention settles into the present moment.
Art Flow takes place on the third Monday of every month from 6:30–8:00 PM, with a new theme and creative invitation each month. The theme is yours to explore if it speaks to you - but there is no “right” way to participate. Make something meaningful, make something just because it feels good, connect with others in our shared studio space, or retreat to our quiet room for a little more solitude. You’re invited to take what you need.
Art Flow is hosted by Angela and Kate, Registered Psychotherapists and co-founders of The Grove Therapy Collective. Art therapy uses the creative process as another way to explore and express our inner experiences, especially the things that aren’t always easy to put into words. For those who would like to go a little deeper, participants have the option of a private 15-minute processing session with Angela, a Registered Psychotherapist and Art Therapist.
All art materials are provided. No artistic experience or skill is needed, and there is never an expectation to share or explain your art.
Art Flow was created as a welcoming “third space”: somewhere outside of home and work where you can make room for yourself while choosing as much or as little community as feels right.
Some art is meaningful because of what it helps us express. Some is meaningful simply because of how it feels to make it. At Art Flow, you get to choose what’s right for you.
Rest, recovery & turning inward
Nature doesn’t bloom year-round, and neither do we. This group explores rest as something worthy in itself, using the quiet of winter as inspiration for slowing down, replenishing, and listening to what we need.

Endings, beginnings & gentle intentions
January can carry enormous pressure to reinvent ourselves. Instead, we’ll reflect on what we’re carrying forward, what we’re leaving behind, and what we’d like to make room for: approaching a new chapter with curiosity rather than resolutions.

Love, care & connection in all its forms
An exploration of the many colours of love: from romance and friendship to family, community, and our relationship with ourselves. Participants will use colour and creative expression to explore what helps them feel cared for, connected, and emotionally nourished.

Navigating transition & the in-between
Change can hold grief, possibility, uncertainty, and hope all at once. Inspired by the changing seasons, we’ll explore how we respond to transition and how art can help us find steadiness when life is shifting beneath our feet.

Cleansing, release & finding clarity
Rain can obscure our view, and it can also wash things clean. Through imagery of water, rain, and renewal, participants will explore emotional release, clearing away what feels heavy or clouded, and reconnecting with what feels clear and essential.

Nurturing growth & noticing what’s blooming
Growth isn’t always dramatic; sometimes it happens quietly beneath the surface long before we can see it. This group invites participants to explore what they’ve been cultivating, recognize their own growth, and consider what needs tending next.

Healing Is Not Linear
Inspired by kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, we’ll explore healing as a process that doesn’t require erasing our cracks or returning to who we were before. Participants can reflect on rupture, repair, resilience, and the ways our experiences become part of our story.

Creativity, curiosity & letting go of the outcome
This month, Art Flow invites you to reconnect with play as a source of creativity, curiosity, and joy. Through experimentation and intuitive art-making, we’ll explore what happens when we loosen expectations, quiet the inner critic, and create simply because it feels good.

Creating through uncertainty
Not knowing what comes next can be deeply uncomfortable, and also full of possibility. This group uses intuitive and process-based art-making to practice staying curious when there isn’t a clear answer, plan, or outcome.

Boundaries, routines & making room for yourself
September often brings us back to schedules, responsibilities, and competing demands. Participants will creatively explore where their energy is going, what belongs on their plate, and how boundaries can help create a life with more room for both caring for others and yourself.

Exploring the hidden parts of ourselves
Inspired by the darker imagery of the season, this group gently explores the “shadow” - the feelings, traits, needs, and parts of ourselves we may hide, judge, or avoid. Through art-making, participants are invited to approach these parts with curiosity rather than criticism.
